1st day, we were greeted by many smiles and bows. Lots of business cards were given to us by men in suits and cuddles with wriggly babies.
We looked at the Ryutetsu trains, Wakaba, Sakura and Nanohana.
A visit to the council, where staffs welcomed us with lots of pamphlets full of information about Nagareyama.
A return to machimin, we saw a preparation of beautiful foods made by 3 local ladies who specialise in fermentation. All the food was traditional except for the ham and tuna mayonnaise Onigiri (rice ball). They were all delicious. An apron/dress called “Kappougi” had been made for us using cloths of old kimono, to wear when we paint.
We sat and chatted our introductions. More local people dropped by; greeted excitedly by Junko.
We got the train home and had a good walk.
It was a good day.
